CENTURION VEHICLE ROLLER SHUTTERS

ACTWAVIC

The Centurion2000 Roller shutter is the ‘mainstay’ of Centurion Fire and Rescue Equipment and the basis on which our manufacturing started and the new Centurion3000 Roller Shutter, released in 2012 continues to grow our business into new markets.

The manufacturing arm of our business started back in May 2001 with our very first order received to supply roller shutters onto vehicles being built for Queensland Rural Fire & Rescue Service.

Since then we have gone on to supply Centurion2000 & now Centurion3000 Roller Shutters onto vehicles for almost every Fire Service within Australia & New Zealand and are now supplying onto Emergency Service Vehicles such as SES as well as Mining, Utility & Commercial Delivery Vehicles.

SO WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 2000 & 3000 SERIES?
In terms of the material we use they are exactly the same extrusions, the difference is the new Flag-plate Installation coupled with redesigned rubber seals to give a fully balanced shutter that can be opened & closed with very little effort. The new rubber seals & Flag-plates can be easily retrofitted into existing Centurion2000 Roller Shutters if an update is required & spare parts are interchageable.
Our team scrutinise our production from raw materials all the way to the finished product to ensure it is to our very high standard. Regular weekly team meetings are a forum in which we ensure quality is maintained and our goals met.
We support our products with excellent after sales service and full individual shutter traceability allows ‘immediate response’ to repairs that may be needed to ensure vehicle down time is kept to a minimum.
“Making Exceptional Products for Extraordinary People”

CENTURION3000 ROLLER SHUTTERS
Since our original ‘Century 2000’ roller shutter was first used in the Australian market, we have gone on to develop a number of options for the new Centurion3000 range of shutters.
INSTALLATION
  Flag Plate
Our new ‘Detachable Wheeled Flag-Plate’ Installation makes for a simpler & quicker installation that guarantees a lightweight balanced movement of the Centurion3000 roller shutter. The Flag-Plate layout makes for smaller stored shutter roll diameters plus allows for smaller top cover panel heights

FINISH:

Clear Hard Anodised – Clear hard anodised finish to protect the aluminium from the elements
Powder Coated – Powder coating to the same paint specification as the vehicle Cabin
Mill Finish – Uncoated mill finish is available for budget projects

The Centurion Roller Shutter is manufactured from prime billet aluminium that is extruded and anodised to our specifications. The shutter curtain is a ‘Box Lath’ construction that ensures the back of the shutter is smooth ensuring loose equipment does not jam the shutter operation. The shutter is fully sealed with top, side and latch seals. The latch assembly is an exclusive design that always ensures full contact by gloved or un-gloved hand without the danger of jamming fingers or hands plus a  very positive opening and closing mechanism.

Full traceability of every individual shutter we manufacture ensures that you get a speedy response to any repair enquiries. Company policy dictates that repair orders receive priority and are acted upon immediately for shipping within 24 hours.

 FLUSH MOUNTED 'KEYED ALIKE' LOCKS

Options that include Flush Mount Key Locks or lockable ‘T’ handle operation are available.

CENTURION 'MAG-SWITCH'

Manufactured ‘in-house’, the MAG-Switch was developed as a low cost alternative to the SSI where the switch was necessary for an alert to a roller shutter door being left open. This switch  must be wired in via a relay. For full stand-alone electronic control see BA Electronics section – SSI.

 CENTURION LED Strip LIGHTING

CENTURION LED Strip ambient lighting is a cost effective way to illuminate the contents of your locker without the glare of traditional lighting. Supplied in flexible strips within its own protective aluminium housing, Centurion LED Strip lighting provides a penetrating lighting system that remains hidden behind the guide channel of the Centurion 2000 Roller Shutter protecting it from potential damage. The LED’s remain encased within a flexible tough sheath of PVC, which are cut to length to suit any application. Available in both 12V and 24V it incorporates the following features:

  • Very low power consumption (3.6w per metre)

  • Output of 170 lumen per metre

  •  Impact resistant and waterproof to IP67

  • Long life span with no need for maintenance

  • Supplied with ‘Stand-Alone’ housing and connectors

  • Made to length

Centurion Fire and Rescue Equipment is proud to be Australasian Agents for BA Electronics, a UK based specialty electronics manufacturing company providing electronic equipment for use within Emergency Services & commercial vehicles. Our close association has provided innovative new equipment that is offered as an option with Centurion Roller Shutters: -

The BA SSI (Shutter Status Indicator)
The SSI uses inductive proximity sensing technology in conjunction with a vehicle’s Centurion roller-shutter to indicate to the driver whether those shutter doors are closed and firmly in position, or have been lifted open.

The secondary function of the SSI is to relay an electrical current to the vehicle LED Strip lockers ambient lighting system when it detects that the roller-shutter door is starting to open, allowing personnel to access their equipment with ease in low light conditions.

The BA 'CENLOCK' shutter central locking system locks down all Centurion roller-shutters at the flick of a switch.

It protects the contents of lockers whilst remaining safe in the knowledge that access to equipment can always be gained thanks to an intelligent control system that can govern the latches. The new central locking control system incorporates the following features:

  • Available for use in both 12v and 24v applications without the need to add any external vehicle battery voltage converters to the system.

  • Capable of safely switching up to 22 latches (11 separate lockers) per vehicle.

  • The types of components used within the control system are all surface mount leading to a very low power draw from the vehicles battery ( after the latches have been initially activated, the unit holds the latches in position with a significantly reduced holding voltage to save on battery power).

  • Care has been taken in the design of the system to make sure it passes stringent EMC testing regulations therefore not interfering with any other electronic systems on a vehicle.

  • The circuit monitoring system within the Series 1 control box automatically sends a check pulse to the connected latches every 60 seconds to make sure that all shutters are locked. This means that if a shutter has been closed, there is no need to de-activate and then re-activate the system for it to become locked. Whereas the Series 2 'Powersave' system is designed for commercial vehicles so no further power is used after the remote fob has been actuated.

  • A light/sounder output is supplied from the control unit to wire into the vehicles cab to show when the system has been activated.

Door Locking Bolt
  • To meet the needs of specific types of vehicles and their doors, a locking bolt mechanism has been developed which can securely lock hinged doors.

  • This unit can be used in conjunction with both the standard and remote control systems.

Remote Central Locking
  • In addition to the standard central locking kits, we have developed a control system that quickly and securely locks down the vehicles Centurion roller shutters using a remote key-fob from a distance of up to 50m.

  • Each remote set has its own unique RF identification signal, and is ideal when used on vehicles where repeated access to lockers is required.

Failsafe!

If the control system on both Series 1 & 2 Central Locking Systems detects that the vehicle battery voltage has dropped below a certain safety threshold, it will automatically de-activate all the latches enabling access to lockers in the event of a battery failure. In addition to this, if the vehicle battery voltage is too low to start with, the latches will not engage.
